First performance, Ann Arbor Dance Works

Project Description

Solo, with “tracking” technology element built using Isadora software.

Themes:
I sought to construct a way to exist “inside the frame” created by my decisions — choreographically and metaphorically.

Performance
• Michigan Dance Day performance as a finalist for the Michigan Choreography Award, Oakland University, Rochester Hills, MI
• Fall Concert, Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, MI
• Intermitten Conference Pop-Up Performance, Ann Arbor Arts Center 2nd floor gallery, Ann Arbor, MI
• Ann Arbor Dance Works Concert, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI

Notes
The “difference” patch I used in Isadora shows the outline of my body, my iSelf, projected on a screen with which I share the stage. A delay is added at one point that creates two iSelf bodies choreographed to move around each other. Performing the work is a challenge, as it requires me to dance 3 seconds of one phrase, then switch to the corresponding 3 seconds of the paired phrase, and then back to the first, etc. throughout that section.
