Project Description
Multimedia distance duet with Cristina Lilienfeld, and video contributions from Alina Usurelu and live performance assistance from Amanda Chizuk.
Themes:
Our central interest was in cross-cultural transmission and translation, asking what is communicable between bodies across digital platforms.
Performance
Simultaneous live performances in Bucharest, Romania and Ann Arbor, MI, with interactive livestream components in between locations.
Notes
This project involved two years of periodic virtual rehearsals, and one virtual two-week creative “residency” sponsored by a Romanian arts grant. The process of composing movement and video-based letters to one another provided content to which a response was made. The letters were both filmed separately and done live over Zoom.
